Coatesville, PA – June 4, 2016 – With the threat of late day rain and each G & H Motorsports team member with a smart phone checking every weather app possible we loaded the Scott Select #46 NASCAR BRC Late Model up and headed to the track.
Heat Race
Scheduled to start 5th in the 1st heat, Dan was lined up 4th when the polesitter elected to start in the rear. The first green flag was a no go but the second one was good. Dan didn’t have a great start as he dropped back to 6th as the first lap was completed and with the race staying green the rest of the way Dan finished 6th.
Team goes to work
Scott Green, Jim Alexander, Michael Wynne, Debbie Dutter, Cathy Green, Jennifer O’Shea and Brett Higginbotham started getting the SquireSide CAFE #46 ready for the feature. Some of the items that need checked is fuel, tires, suspension bars and even Dan’s helmet. With a fine mist falling from the sky and the track keeping things moving along Dan was ready and in the car waiting for the Late Models to be called onto the track.
Feature Event
The 25 lap feature event was a roller coaster type race as Dan started inside row 3 in 5th spot. Just like the heat race the first green flag was a no go as Ron Kline #3 ended up with some front end damage to bring out the caution. On the restart the race went green until lap 3 when Shawn Horning #8m and Eric Hoch #00 came together in turn 4. Before lap 5 was completed, Dan got passed down the back straight by Lou Egrie Sr #x4 and as Dan was trying to setup to re-pass Egrie Sr he hit the right rear of the #x4 which sent Egrie Sr spinning. Looking at the roof camera on Dan’s car it shows that Egrie Sr clipped the inside berm causing him to slow for a split second and Dan had no time to react causing the contact. Dan later said “I feel real bad getting into Lou but I was right there and had no time to do anything but make contact.” Dan was sent to the rear for the contact for the restart, Egrie Sr drove into the pits but with Grandview keeping the show moving along was unable to make it back out before the green flag waved. With racing resuming Dan worked his way through traffic and several more cautions to finish in 6th. After the feature the team discovered that the left rear shock had broken which hampered Dan’s drive off the turns. With Dan’s consistent finishes he sits 2nd in points 112 points behind Dave Ogin #31.
Congratulations - Saturday Night Winners
Bernheisel Race Components Late Models went to Brian Shuey #177 for his third win of the season. T. P. Trailers Modified winner was Kyle Borrer #B4, it was his first Modified win at Grandview! Sportsman winner was Ryan Lilick #142 for his first of the 2016 season.

Next Event
The next event for the Amsoil #46 will be at Grandview Speedway June 11th for a 4 class racing program consisting of the T.P. Trailers Modifieds, BRC Late Models, Sportsmans and the Blast From the Past Vintage Car Club starting at 7:30 PM. Adult admission is $15 while youngsters 11 and under get in for free. Military with proper ID are admitted free.
Dan, the team and the #46 NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model will be at Little Anthony’s Pizza and Grille in Honey Brook, PA on July 2nd from 11 AM to 3 PM. We will have team merchandise available and as always lots of giveaways. Make plans now to stop by before going to Grandview Speedway later that day!
